ETF26
The flying catamaran ETF26 was designed and developed in 2018 thanks to the vision and initiative of the famous French ocean sailor, Jean-Pierre Dick. With a design largely based on the highly successful C-Class catamaran "Groupama" and inspired by the AC50 flying catamarans from the 2015 America's Cup, the ETF26 is a leading high-performance foiling class.
The ETF26 series takes place annually in Europe, with 5 events organized in Spain, France, and Italy. While the majority of sailors are full-time professional athletes, the ETF26 also includes a number of amateur crews. The ETF26 series is structured so that female crews of (4) athletes can compete on equal terms with male crews of (3) athletes. As a result, the ETF26 series has seen mixed crews and all-female crews not only winning races but also stepping onto the podium. The class has therefore attracted several high-performance female and youth sailing programs, competing successfully in the fleet.
